Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone!!! May all the joys of this holiday be yours as we celebrate the birth of our saviour. Remember, Jesus is the reason for the season, not Santa Clause :-)

Despite horrible road conditions, we were still able to go caroling last night. It was an awesome night of singing, laughter, joy, snowballs, and of course hot cocoa as well as other hot beverages. Thankfully, there were no accidents and I got home safe and sound.

Pics of Karina

This winter is special! Isn't it? I've heard we have not had this much snow in about 30 years! So is this global warming or global freezing? :) My Sister and I decided to come out to a cool, beautiful day and take some pictures of the snow, and of course some portrait pictures. Here are just a few I took today.

Country Hike

With so much snow and nothing to do, I decided to go for a little excursion out in the country. Grabbing my camera, I began walking through the open fields near my neighborhood. As I made my way along a stream, I noticed allot of fresh animal tracks in the snow. I was able to pick out the tracks of deer, raccoons, coyotes, and mice. Interestingly, the mouse tracks went from one patch of grass to another. By each patch of grass, you could see a bunch of chaff that the mice had left behind after eating the grass seeds.

Although this hike took  the whole afternoon, I still enjoyed every minute of being out in the fresh air and seeing the beauty of God’s creation! Hope you enjoy several of my favorite images.

Winter is Here!

Wow, what a winter! The photo studio I work at has been closed for several days already because of the snow. I am stuck at home with a handicapped car whose lower control arm broke after I slid into a curb. Portland already has almost a foot of snow on the roads and the forecast is predicting that it's going to continue snowing throughout the upcoming week. I wonder if we are still going to be able to go caroling and have church on Christmas?

Now, on a more optimistic note... I can finally catch up on all the different things I never have the time to do:-) This includes organizing my iTunes library, finishing reading War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy, organizing my room, and reviewing the textbooks in preparation for my upcoming clinical practicum in the Cardiac Care Unit (CCU).

Goodbye Autumn

Its been snowing for almost a week now and it doesn't feel like its going to stop. Isn't it wonderful that we have seasons! Each new season brings me joy and makes me even more thankful that I am still alive to experience it. Enjoy the couple of pictures I captured last week. The last leaves of autumn:-)

More Everett Pix

Here is some more pictures from our choir trip to Everett. We had some crazy snowball fights and people were pretty desperate to keep their hands warm. Some people went to such extreme measures as warming their hands by using car exhaust pipes or sticking them into their friend's pockets.

Everett Choir Trip 08

Out youth choir had an awesome time in Everett. The youth from Bethel Church received us very warmly and gave us more food than we could eat. I got to hear a personal testimony from a guy named Ricky and my soul rejoiced with him at yet another example of the Holy Spirit’s regenerating work. I also got to meet a nice girl named Carina, who with the blond streak in her hair is kind of hard to miss:)

Unfortunately, we could not stay to sing at the evening service of Sulamita Church because the road conditions in Portland were getting pretty bad and we decided to head back before things get worse. Enjoy these first few images I was able to process. I will try to post some more tomorrow. God Bless!

Christmas Concert 08

Once again our church hosted an amazing Christmas concert. I was able to capture a few images before sneaking into choir (I came late because I was working). Tomorrow morning we are getting up at 4 am to go sing in Seattle. Hopefully the road conditions will be ok because it's supposed to snow tonight.

Mexico Mission Trip

Last summer our group from the Seattle area visited Mexico in an effort to spread the good news about Christ to even the most remote and poverty stricken areas of this continent. Recently, one of my friends left on a similar mission trip and I can’t wait to go again… Lord willing of course!

Hope you enjoy a few of the many great images I was able to capture during my time in Tijuana, Ensenada, and Colonet. If you are my friend on Odnoklassniki, you can view a lot more pictures from my Mexico mission trip under my photo albums. Gloria a Dios!
